Such a dope idea. Laid out perfectly. Can’t really see an argument against it.

Tradition is the best/worst argument. Maybe impracticality of scaling across boxing culture. Oh well!

This is a great idea, and one that should’ve been done years ago. I also picture using colored gloves to match belt levels, so it’s easy to see who’s at each. Gives people levels to aspire to. It only takes one boxing gym to make it happen!

Agree! And colored wraps might be a fun touch too.

It could be a good way to distinguish old school boxing gyms and more boxercise-y type places

It’s like a 20-30 years problem in need of a transformational figure with a coherent system. I’ve seen some systems but not likely to scale.

Your take makes a lot of business sense but up to a certain degree. It definitely creates structure but with structure creates limitations. On amateur level, it would be beneficial but the main reason it wont work because boxing thrives on chaos, drama, underdog stories, and cherry picking and when you create clear and obvious categories or levels, it reduces those aspects. It is also not as a technical based as compared to taekwondo, or karate. Boxing is technique based on foundation but is more chaotic and free… it is prizefighting more than martial arts, just like UFC. That is just my take but your take is not extreme, it actually makes a lot of business sense for smaller gyms , amateurs and boxing enthusiasts especially for people boxing for fitness !
